Handle with care
Always lift your hat by the brim, not by the crown. Handle it with clean, dry hands and avoid unnecessary touching during wear.
Let it air after use
After wearing, leave your hat in a dry, well-ventilated place for a while before storing it. Do not place a damp hat directly into a box or wardrobe.
Remove dust gently
Use a soft hat brush, lint roller or clean, dry cloth to remove dust and loose dirt. Brush lightly and avoid rubbing the surface.
For small marks
Light surface marks can be carefully dabbed with a clean, slightly damp cloth. Do not soak the felt and do not rub vigorously.
If your hat gets wet
Shake off excess water gently and let the hat dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use a hairdryer, radiator or any other direct heat source.
While the hat is still slightly damp, gently return the brim and crown to their correct shape if needed. Let it dry completely before wearing or storing.
Do not wash
Do not machine wash, hand wash or immerse your hat in water.
Store it correctly
Store your hat in a dry place. For longer storage, use a hat box or place the hat on a clean, flat surface where the crown and brim are not compressed.
Do not hang a hat from a hook for long periods, as this can gradually alter its shape.
Protect the inner band
If the inner band needs cleaning, gently wipe it with a clean, slightly damp cloth. Pull the band slightly away from the felt while cleaning to avoid transferring moisture to the hat itself.
Allow the band to dry completely before wearing the hat again.
Avoid strong cleaning products
Do not use bleach, stain removers or strong detergents. If a stain does not come off with gentle surface cleaning, contact us or use a professional cleaner experienced with felt hats.
Velour and brushed finishes
Velour and brushed felt should be handled particularly gently. Avoid rubbing or brushing aggressively, as this can change the direction and appearance of the surface.
If the hat loses its shape
Do not force the hat back into shape while dry. Felt can usually be reshaped with steam, but structured Anjo Atelier hats are best restored professionally.

When travelling
Do not place heavy items on top of the hat. If possible, transport it in a hat box or position it so that the brim and crown are not compressed.
For long-term care
Check your hat occasionally for dust, moisture or changes in shape. Small issues are easier to correct when treated early.
